The meeting of the Aargau Grand Council was interrupted for around 20 minutes on Tuesday afternoon. The reason was a fire alarm. However, it was an exercise.

At 15.00 on the dot, Grand President Mirjam Kosch announced that the building had to be evacuated due to smoke in the basement. The members were asked to go outside quietly.

As it turned out, this was a drill by the Aarau fire department. Kosch noted that the members of parliament had been given the rating "civilized" by the fire department.
