The fire in a gymnasium in Spiegel near Bern (municipality of Köniz) is probably the result of arson. This is the conclusion reached by specialists from the Bern cantonal police, as reported on Wednesday.

The fire on October 17, 2023 caused property damage amounting to several hundred thousand francs. The gymnasium was badly damaged. No one was injured.

The fire and explosions department of the cantonal police concluded that a wooden pallet on the facade of the gymnasium had caught fire. The main cause was arson. However, it has not yet been possible to identify the perpetrators.
