Central Switzerland Fire at the Sachseln OW poolside restaurant paralyzes train services

A fire at the lido restaurant in Sachseln OW paralyzed Zentralbahn train traffic for over two hours early Tuesday morning. No one was injured, according to the Obwalden cantonal police.

The fire was reported to the cantonal police operations center shortly before 5.30 a.m., according to a statement. When the fire department arrived, part of the Badi-Beizli was already fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished by the fire department. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the cantonal police. According to the press release, a technical cause is in the foreground.
