A driver coming from Mülenen in the direction of Reichenbach crossed into the oncoming lane for as yet unexplained reasons and collided head-on with an oncoming car, according to information from the Bern cantonal police on Saturday evening. They themselves were notified of the accident at around 5.35 pm.
The first collision triggered a chain reaction: As a result, the first oncoming car in turn crossed into the oncoming lane due to the side-frontal collision and collided with another car that was traveling in the direction of Reichenbach.
The main road between Mülenen and Reichenbach had to be completely closed for around four hours until Saturday evening for the rescue and accident work, according to the police. The Reichenbach fire department set up a detour.
