Basel will be celebrating all night long on Saturday - provided the Swiss national team wins the European Championship quarter-final against England. In this case, the Department of Construction and Transport (BVD) will lift the closing times of the hospitality industry for one night, as it announced on Thursday.

This will allow the Swiss national team's first appearance in the semi-finals of a major football tournament to be duly celebrated. Should Switzerland even make it to the final or even become European champions, a free night would also be declared, according to the BVD.
