Waste Frutigen expands its waste disposal center
Frutigen is expanding its waste disposal center. A "regional waste disposal center of the future" is to be created. This was announced by the municipality on Wednesday.

The current facility is bursting at the seams, according to a joint press release issued by the municipality of Frutigen and the operator Avag Umwelt AG on Wednesday. The high volume of traffic, backlogs, long waiting times and "the suboptimal weighing and payment process" are currently causing problems.
The current waste disposal center is therefore to be expanded and the service improved. To this end, Avag can take over land from the municipality under building rights, as was also reported. A planning application for the expansion has already been submitted. Construction work is set to begin this year and last until 2026.
