The National Council wants to eliminate the special VAT rate of 3.8 percent for the Swiss hotel industry. It made this decision on Tuesday by a vote of 105 to 75, with 15 abstentions. In the future, the lodging industry will have to pay the standard rate of 8.1 percent.
