Bern Inferno Triathlon canceled after storms in the Bernese Oberland

The Inferno Triathlon on Saturday has been canceled after the storms on Monday evening. The consequences of the storm in Brienz and Grindelwald and the uncertain weather conditions made it impossible to set up the infrastructure properly, the organizers announced on Wednesday.

The triathlon leads from Thun via Interlaken to the Schilthorn, which is almost 3000 meters high. Participants will swim 3.1 kilometers, cover 97 kilometers by road bike and 30 kilometers by mountain bike and then complete a 25-kilometer mountain run.

The organizers also announced that the Inferno Half Marathon will take place. However, the Fun Triathlon has also been canceled.
