In November, the municipality of Köniz will vote on whether members of the municipal parliament should be able to stand in for a limited period of time. On Monday evening, the municipal parliament gave the green light for this vote.

The vote will take place on November 24, as the Köniz municipal parliament announced on Monday evening. Members of parliament who are absent for an extended period of time for important reasons should be able to stand in for a maximum of six months. The next substitute from the same list will then take their place.

Substitution solutions have recently been discussed in numerous places in Switzerland with parliaments and also in various cantons. The voters of Burgdorf said yes to this at the ballot box in June of this year.

The establishment of the "Schloss Köniz" foundation will also be put to the vote in Köniz on November 24. The municipal parliament is asking voters for a complete package including a loan for the foundation's capital, the transfer of the buildings to the foundation under building rights and a loan for the renovation of the "Ritterhuus".
