Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG closes the 10th anniversary year of the ski area connection with Arosa with a record turnover. A dividend is to be distributed for the first time in nine years.

As the company announced on Thursday, it achieved a record turnover of CHF 39.1 million, CHF 7.1 million more than in the previous year. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 12.4 percent to 13.9 million Swiss francs, also a new all-time high. After deducting depreciation and amortization, this resulted in a profit of CHF 1.3 million (up 7.1%).

In winter, 1.4 million people visited the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area, the second-highest figure ever. In summer 2023, 195,000 guests used the mountain railroads in Lenzerheide, three percent fewer than in the previous year.

According to its own assessment, the company can therefore report "an excellent financial year and record figures for the third time in a row". The Board of Directors therefore intends to propose a dividend in the form of a repayment from the capital contribution reserves to the Annual General Meeting at the end of September.

Successful ski resort connection

The jubilee year of the large ski area connection is a perfect example of how it has more than proved its worth, the company wrote in the press release. Since then, Arosa and Lenzerheide have shared the largest interconnected ski area in Graubünden and are number two in Switzerland in terms of the number of snow sports enthusiasts.

"How sustainable these investments were and how sustainable the connection is can be seen in the consistently stable, good annual results, even in difficult years," Chairman of the Board of Directors Felix Frei is quoted as saying in the press release.
