The aim of the partnership is to "better coordinate medical and nursing services and thus optimize patient pathways", as the two companies wrote in a joint press release.

In future, patients from the Emmental will have easier access to the "highly specialized medicine of the Lindenhof Group", the press release continued.

Following an acute intervention at the Lindenhof Group, patients will in future be able to receive rapid follow-up care close to home at the Burgdorf and Langnau sites of Emmental Hospital, the press release continued.

The two companies also want to drive forward digitalization "along the patient pathway". The aim is to promote the "prompt exchange of treatment-relevant data", which should be accessible at any time and from any location.

The Lindenhof Group and Spital Emmental are already working together in the fields of orthopaedics and urology.

The Lindenhof Group operates the three hospitals Engeried, Lindenhof and Sonnenhof in the city of Berne. Spital Emmental has sites in Burgdorf and Langnau.
