Risky sport Luck in misfortune for paraglider pilot in Charmey FR

A 70-year-old paraglider pilot escaped with a scare on Thursday in Charmey FR. He flew into a cable car cable but was uninjured, as reported by the Fribourg cantonal police on Friday.

The man had deviated from the usual flight route. He got stuck on the cable of the Charmey cable car and had to be freed from his predicament by rescue workers.

The cable car was able to continue operating while the gondola passengers were evacuated. It then had to suspend operations for two and a half hours to recover the accident victim. The accident is being investigated, the police said.
