A man was injured in a kitchen fire in Langenthal on Friday evening. An ambulance team took him to hospital. According to the police, the cause of the fire was initially unclear.

The fire on Murgenthalstrasse was reported to the Bern cantonal police shortly after 9 p.m., as reported on Saturday. The man, who was in the affected apartment when the fire broke out, was able to leave on his own.

The fire department reportedly brought the fire under control quickly. However, the apartment is currently no longer habitable.

Murgenthalstrasse was closed for around two hours due to the fire. The police are investigating the cause of the fire and clarifying the amount of property damage.
