Long-term models from MeteoSwiss show: Switzerland can look forward to summer weather soon.
However, one meteorologist warns that although the probability of summer weather has increased somewhat, it still doesn't look too stable.
There is a high probability of warm weather from July to September.
The weather has been the number one topic of conversation for most Swiss people for weeks. The persistent bad weather is getting on people's nerves and the big question is: when will it finally be summer?
According to the long-term weather forecasts from MeteoSwiss, there could soon be reason to breathe a sigh of relief. The models from the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology are predicting "fairly sunny and mostly dry weather" and "maximum temperatures between 24 and 30 degrees" from July 10.
The forecasts are possible developments. The decisive factor is essentially "high-pressure conditions".
The arrival of the super summer is not quite so certain after all, as Christophe Voisard, meteorologist at MeteoSwiss, writes at the request of blue News: "The probability of summer weather has increased somewhat, but it doesn't look too stable yet."
It is likely that there could be a few days of rain again in mid-July.
High probability of warm weather from July to September
At the moment, Mr. and Mrs. Swiss must continue to be brave, as Voisard adds: "It will rain again all over Switzerland next weekend . " The main focus of the precipitation will be on the northern slopes of the Alps, he says. "The expected precipitation amounts are likely to be below warning thresholds."
But the meteorologist is hopeful. A look at the long-term models shows him a positive picture. "The current seasonal forecasts for German-speaking Switzerland and the months of July to September show a high probability of warm weather."
He sees a high chance of summer temperatures in these three months. Whether the wait for the sunny season will really be over soon remains to be seen.
But a breather from the dreary rainy weather should be guaranteed.
