A 41-year-old motorcyclist crashed on a left-hand bend on the Bernina Pass on Thursday and suffered several fractures to his right leg. Rega flew the Dutchman to the cantonal hospital in Chur.

The rider involved in the accident was part of a group of motorcyclists who were riding down the Bernina Pass towards Italy at around 5 p.m., as reported by the Graubünden cantonal police on Friday. In a left-hand bend near Palüeta, the 41-year-old crashed and hit the crash barrier.

His colleagues looked after him until the Rega crew arrived. The Graubünden cantonal police were assisted at the scene of the accident by staff from the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS).
