An 18-year-old motorcyclist was caught speeding at 142 km/h in Schocherswil on Tuesday evening. The motorcycle was seized.

After deducting the safety margin, the 18-year-old Swiss national had exceeded the speed limit by 62 km/h, which corresponds to a speeding offense, the Thurgau cantonal police announced on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old has been reported to the public prosecutor's office. His driving license and learner's permit were confiscated.
