The fees for radio and television should not be reduced from the current CHF 335 to CHF 200 per year in future. This is the opinion of the responsible National Council committee. It clearly proposed that the SRG initiative be rejected - by 17 votes to 8.

After two proposals for an indirect counter-proposal to the initiative were clearly rejected by the responsible Council of States committee, the majority of the National Council's Committee for Transport and Telecommunications (KVF-N) has now also performed a U-turn, as the parliamentary services announced on Tuesday. The petition for a referendum will now be put to the vote without a counter-proposal.
The recommendation to vote against the popular initiative "200 francs is enough (SRG initiative or halving initiative)" was clear in the National Council committee. In the opinion of the majority, the Federal Council's proposal to reduce media fees for households and companies from CHF 335 to CHF 300 per year by ordinance already sufficiently addresses the concerns of the popular initiative.
