The large chamber made its decisions on Monday in a special debate on the economic framework conditions in Switzerland and the preservation of jobs, the strengthening of the workplace and purchasing power.
In the extraordinary debate, the Council had to decide on a total of ten thematically very different motions and two postulates from the SVP, FDP, Greens, SP and Center parties.
Seven motions were adopted. The SVP prevailed with its demand for tax relief for working people of AHV age and for an upper limit for federal offices. It received support from the FDP and GLP.
Two motions by FDP National Councillor Andri Silberschmidt (ZH) were also adopted. He proposes higher tax deductions to promote investment and research activities. The Greens received a majority for their call for innovation vouchers and more advisory services for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The National Council did not want to hear about higher taxation of internet platforms, as proposed by Zurich SP National Councillor Min Li Marti. All the motions that were adopted will go to the Council of States.
