The aim of the "activdispens.ch - moving despite sports dispensation" project is to enable as many children as possible in the canton of Obwalden with minor illnesses or injuries to take part in lessons, according to the responsible office of the canton of Obwalden. The project will be introduced at the start of school on August 19.

As part of the project, parents can apply to their family doctor for a dispensation for their children. This identifies the parts of the body that need to be spared. There is a list of over 50 exercises that children can do despite minor illnesses or injuries. The sports teachers then select the exercises that the students can do in PE lessons.

According to the canton, the project was developed by the Swiss Association for Sport in Schools and the Swiss Working Group for Rehabilitation Training. It is supported by the Federal Office of Sport, the Federal Office of Public Health and Health Promotion Switzerland.
