A 75-year-old driver hit a 59-year-old man at a pedestrian crossing in Safenwil AG on Thursday. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries.

He was thrown away in the collision at 12.15 p.m. on Emil-Frey-Strasse, as reported by the Aargau cantonal police on Friday. An ambulance took the seriously injured man to hospital.

The police confiscated the driver's license from the driver involved in the accident for the attention of the revocation authorities. The Zofingen-Kulm public prosecutor's office opened an investigation.
