One person was injured in a fire in an apartment building in Arlesheim BL early Tuesday morning. The heavy smoke caused damage to three apartments. These are no longer habitable at the moment, according to the Basel police.

The fire in the house on Austrasse broke out shortly after 05:00. The fire department was able to quickly locate and extinguish the source of the fire.

The injured person was taken to hospital. The other residents were evacuated in good time.
