Search operation Police find missing senior citizen unharmed in Engwang TG

On Thursday evening, the Thurgau cantonal police found a 73-year-old man who had been reported missing unharmed in a wooded area near Engwang TG after a two-hour search.

When the man was reported missing to the cantonal emergency call center at 7 p.m., a large-scale search was launched with several patrols, a drone with a thermal imaging camera and a service dog, the Thurgau cantonal police wrote in a statement on Friday. The local population also helped.

The man was eventually found around one kilometer away from his home. According to his own statements, he had been surprised by dusk during a walk and was unable to find his way home. He was treated by the emergency services and Spitex at his home.
