A motorcyclist was speeding at 145 kilometers per hour on a 80 km/h road in Laufen BL on Sunday afternoon. A mobile speed check by the police flashed the man. The officers pulled him out of traffic, confiscated his driver's license on the spot and seized his vehicle.

The 50-year-old was driving on Delsbergerstrasse in Laufen in the direction of Zwingen shortly before 12.00 noon when he was stopped, according to the Basel-Landschaft cantonal police. The Swiss national, who lives in the region, must answer to the courts for a speeding offense.
