A house caught fire in Beromünster LU early on Thursday morning. The fire was reported to the Lucerne police shortly before 5.30 a.m., according to a statement. When the emergency services arrived, the building was already partially engulfed in flames.

The firefighters brought a total of ten people to safety. Several of those affected required medical attention due to suspected smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still unclear. The Lucerne police are investigating.
