On the days of Taylor Swift's concert in Zurich on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, large-scale driving bans will apply. The Zurich city police will be present on site.

This has probably never happened before: due to the expected crowds for the concerts of US pop star Taylor Swift, the city of Zurich is closing off the area around the Letzigrund stadium next Tuesday and Wednesday. A dozen streets will be partially closed to traffic, as the city police announced on Thursday.

The Letzipark shopping center and the Letzigraben open-air swimming pool are also in the exclusion zone. From Sunday to Thursday, Baslerstrasse and Herdernstrasse directly by the stadium will be closed to traffic.

Do not enter the stadium without a ticket

The city police called on people without tickets not to go to the stadium. At other Swift concerts, thousands of fans sometimes gathered outside the stadiums. Roads and sidewalks near the stadium are also closed to pedestrians. This "security area" will be controlled by the organizer, the statement continued.

Up to 50,000 people per day are expected to attend the concerts alone. They are expected to use public transport. Nobody is allowed to queue outside the stadium before 10 a.m. and camping is prohibited.

Due to the fact that the volume of traffic and people cannot be determined in advance, the Zurich city police will act flexibly and initiate an appropriate traffic concept or crowd control measures. There will be an increased police security presence around the stadium.
