Roman Brunner will relinquish the SP parliamentary group presidency in the Basel district council next year. He has held this office for around four years. The application deadline for his successor is now open, as the SP Baselland announced on Thursday.

Brunner was quoted in the press release as saying that he still takes great pleasure in the office. However, the SP has many people who also deserve this opportunity, says the former parliamentary group leader. Brunner will continue to be a member of the cantonal parliament. The secondary school teacher from Muttenz has been a member of the cantonal parliament since 2015.
