From July 22, the timetable restrictions between Sargans and Buchs that were necessary due to the double-track expansion will be lifted during the day - with the exception of two weekends in September. Replacement buses will continue to run at night until October 25.

From mid-December, long-distance trains between Sargans and St. Gallen will now run every half hour. This will require additional double-track sections and further construction work on the railroad infrastructure, SBB announced on Monday.

The work is proceeding according to plan. After July 22, they will only lead to restrictions at night. Until October 25, the line between Sargans and Buchs SG will therefore only be closed to train traffic at night, with the exception of Saturday night.

Replacement buses will be available for passengers from 9.50 p.m. on Sunday to Friday nights. This will extend the journey time by around 30 minutes. In addition, the railroad line between Sargans and Buchs will be closed to train traffic on the weekends from September 6 to 9 and from September 20 to 23.
