According to the Zurich city police, there was a collision. A motorcyclist died as a result.
According to initial findings, shortly after 6.45 a.m., a 42-year-old man was driving his truck in the left-hand lane of the Hardbrücke in the direction of Bucheggplatz. At the Geroldrampe entrance, the truck collided with a car traveling in the same direction, according to the city police. The car was subsequently pushed several meters away from the truck and into the oncoming lane.
There, a motorcyclist coming the other way on a motorcycle was unable to react in time and crashed head-on into the car. Unfortunately, the 43-year-old died at the scene despite the immediate resuscitation measures initiated by the emergency services. The truck driver and the 37-year-old car driver were uninjured. The exact circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Zurich public prosecutor's office and the Zurich city police.
