Living space Steinhausen ZG chooses winning project for development near the train station
The municipality of Steinhausen ZG has selected the "Trittico" project by a Zurich architectural firm for the "Beim Bahnhof" development. It is now to be developed into an indicative project by the end of 2024.

The project winners are Ballmoos Partner Architekten AG and Neuland Architektur Landschaft GmbH from Zurich, as announced by the municipality of Steinhausen on Wednesday. The team was able to impress with the high quality of the outdoor spaces, the operational functionality of the workshops and the layout of the apartments.
The winning project was selected by an evaluation committee, as was reported. A total of 28 applications were received for the publicly advertised study contract. Seven teams were then allowed to submit their projects.
The plans for the commercial site south of Steinhausen train station include work and commercial use, an eco-center and, in some cases, affordable apartments. In June 2023, the people approved a study contract loan of CHF 265,000 for this purpose. The site is owned by the municipality and the building owners' association at Steinhausen train station. Provisional construction start date is 2029.
