Traffic accident Streetcar traffic blocked in Basel city center after accident
Due to a collision between two streetcar trains at an intersection on Steinenberg, streetcar traffic through Basel city center has been blocked since Monday afternoon. According to the Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe, all streetcar lines in this area are expected to be closed for a longer period of time.

According to the Basel-Stadt cantonal police, a female driver was slightly injured. She received medical treatment at the scene.
According to the cantonal police's investigations to date, a collision occurred between two streetcar trains at the Steinenberg/Theaterstrasse junction for as yet unexplained reasons.
Involved was a Baselland Transport AG (BLT) streetcar traveling from Bankverein in the direction of Barfüsserplatz and a streetcar from Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB), which wanted to turn from Theaterstrasse into Steinenberg in the direction of Barfüsserplatz.
