Three suspected burglars were tracked down by police dogs in Selzach SO on Sunday afternoon after attempting to escape and were subsequently arrested. The Solothurn-Biel train line was closed for two hours because the suspects' vehicle got stuck on the railroad track, according to the Solothurn cantonal police on Monday.

The alarm center received a report of a break-in at a company building in Selzach at 1.20 pm. The police patrols that were deployed took up the pursuit of a mobile home in which the suspected perpetrators fled, the police added.

While driving along the railroad tracks, the camper van got stuck between the tracks and the grass verge, whereupon the occupants fled on foot into a nearby cornfield. The police surrounded the field and were able to track down three suspects with the help of several service dogs.

The identity of the burglars was still unclear at first. All three were provisionally arrested for further investigation, according to reports. The fire department was deployed to recover the mobile home.
