A tanker truck collided with the left-hand crash barrier over a distance of 40 meters on the A2 in Stansstad NW on Thursday evening. This was pushed onto the oncoming lane by the impact.

According to the Nidwalden cantonal police on Friday, debris was also scattered across both lanes of the highway. The A2 therefore had to be closed in both directions for a short time. Traffic was then routed in one lane across the emergency lane.

According to the police, the crash caused total damage to the crash barrier and the tractor unit of the articulated lorry. The 38-year-old driver was uninjured, his co-driver suffered minor injuries.
