The caller claimed to be from the "international police" on Tuesday afternoon, as the Schaffhausen police announced on Wednesday. The Apple multimedia cards worth 1,000 francs were supposed to serve as security for the 64-year-old's account.

The caller explained to the woman in English that she had to photograph the codes on the cards and send them to him. She bought cards for 250 francs and sent the codes to the unknown caller, according to the Schaffhausen police. But the daughter quickly redeemed the iTunes cards before the perpetrator got to them.
