In the canton of Thurgau, the payment of approved funding applications has to be postponed until January 2025. The reason for this is the high demand in the years 2020 to 2023, the canton announced.

During the pandemic and in the months following it, there was a veritable renovation boom in the building sector, according to a statement issued by the State Chancellery on Wednesday,

High energy prices and the uncertain supply situation were the driving force behind the switch to alternative heating systems such as heat pumps. This has led to a high demand for subsidies. Many of these projects are currently being completed. Payments are now due.

To ensure that the amount of the subsidy fund can be maintained at the legally stipulated minimum level of CHF 12 million at the beginning of 2025, the payment of contributions "unfortunately has to be postponed until January 2025". Applicants will be informed directly.
