Municipal elections Toni Thoma loses the municipal presidency of Andwil

In Andwil SG, the previous mayor Toni Thoma (SVP) has been voted out of office. His opponent Marc Schäfer (center), the former managing director of the Shopping Arena in Winkeln, was already successful in the first round of voting.

Toni Thoma received 300 votes, Marc Schäfer received 638 votes. The absolute majority was 470 votes.

The long-standing SVP cantonal councillor Toni Thoma recently ran unsuccessfully for the municipal presidencies in Neckertal and Flawil. He has now been voted out of office in Andwil, where he had already been mayor since 2017.
