The 44-year-old was driving in the direction of Bern on the A1 highway when he lost control of his vehicle at 8.45 p.m. near the Aarau-Ost junction. The car veered off the road to the right. After colliding with a crash barrier, the vehicle crossed a grass verge and two acceleration lanes, according to the police.

The vehicle then came to a standstill in front of the wildlife protection fence and blocked the entrance. The accident site had been cleared by 22:00. No one was injured; an ambulance took the driver to hospital for a check-up. The van was totaled and the driver had to temporarily surrender his driver's license.
