The Greens are unlikely to make a recommendation for the Federal Council election. This is what parliamentary group leader Aline Trede (BE) told the Keystone-SDA news agency early on Wednesday morning before the final election meeting of her parliamentary group.

The centrist group is proposing Martin Pfister and Markus Ritter to succeed outgoing Federal Councillor Viola Amherd. By refraining from making an election recommendation, the Greens have joined the majority of parliamentary groups.
Only the SVP made an election recommendation - for the President of the Farmers' Association and St. Gallen National Councillor Markus Ritter. The GLP, on the other hand, expressed sympathy for Zug councillor Pfister. The SP parliamentary group also met on Wednesday morning to discuss the election procedure.
