The Schaffhausen police arrested two men from the Czech Republic a week ago on Monday evening. Customs officers discovered that they were traveling in a stolen van. In addition, the 32-year-old driver was driving the vehicle without a driver's license and under the influence of drugs.

A saliva test revealed that the driver was under the influence of amphetamine and methamphetamine, the police wrote in a statement on Wednesday. The police seized small quantities of the drug crystal meth from the driver and his 41-year-old passenger.

An electric shock device, 3.4 kilograms of euro coins and a tin of jewelry were also found when the vehicle was checked. In addition, two tools were hidden in the passenger footwell.

Checks finally revealed that the van had been stolen the night before in Bavaria. The two men will have to answer to the public prosecutor's office in Schaffhausen.
