The two young women replace Martina Munz (SP/SH) and Bastien Girod (Greens/ZH). Munz and Girod were long-standing members of the upper chamber and sat in their last session last fall.

38-year-old Linda de Ventura has been a member of the Schaffhausen Cantonal Council since 2015, first for the AL and then for the SP. She has been Vice-President of the SP cantonal parliamentary group since 2023. She is a social worker.

32-year-old Meret Schneider is a returnee. She was already a member of the National Council from 2019 to 2023, but missed re-election in the fall of 2023. In her first term of office, she launched several initiatives for more animal welfare and on the topic of agriculture.
