Labor market Unemployment rate in the canton of Zurich rises slightly

The unemployment rate in the canton of Zurich rose from 2 to 2.1 percent in July. Seasonal effects contributed to this.

At the end of July, 18,357 people were registered as unemployed with the Regional Employment Centers (RAV) of the canton of Zurich, as reported by the Office of Labor on Tuesday. This is 653 more people than in the previous month.

According to the press release, an increase in unemployment figures is common at this time of year, partly because many apprentices and students finish their training.
