Lucerne police found a dead woman in an apartment in Sursee LU after 5 a.m. on Saturday morning. They arrested the victim's partner at the scene. Based on the circumstances of the discovery, the authorities are currently assuming a homicide.
Simon Kopp, spokesman for the public prosecutor's office, was unable to say who alerted the police when asked by the Keystone-SDA news agency on Monday.
He also gave no details about the injuries, the possible murder weapon or the age of the victim and the arrested man. Kopp added that he hoped to be able to provide further details tomorrow, Tuesday.
The body will be examined by the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University of Zurich, he added. The police are looking for people who can provide information in connection with the suspected homicide.
