Municipal elections Zollikofen mayor remains unopposed

Daniel Bichsel remains mayor of Zollikofen. The SVP politician was the only candidate to stand for the office in the upcoming municipal elections and will be re-elected in a silent vote in mid-October.

Bichsel has been mayor since 2013. In addition to him, all other incumbent members of the municipal council are also running for a further term of office, as the municipality of Zollikofen announced on Tuesday. A total of 21 candidates have put themselves forward for a seat on the seven-member body.

According to the press release, over 100 candidates are vying for the 40 seats in the municipal parliament. The municipal elections will take place on November 24.
