The postulants argued that the teaching profession is becoming ever more complex and the demands are constantly increasing. In addition to the stressful day-to-day work, the shortage of skilled workers is also being felt strongly by teachers.
The postulants therefore wanted to relieve the burden on older teachers so that they could remain in the profession in the long term. Qëndresa Sadriu-Hoxha (SP/Meilen) said that schools are extremely reliant on experienced teachers due to the severe shortage of specialists.
However, the Council followed the government, which rejected the postulate. The proposal was based on an earlier working model that no longer exists today, said Education Director Silvia Steiner (center). Age reduction is already taking place today. There is no room for the requested measure.
