The Zurich City Council has appointed Philippe Koch as Delegate for Housing. The new position is intended to help increase the proportion of non-profit apartments to a third of all rental apartments.

The city council announced on Tuesday that housing activities will be strategically bundled. The housing delegate is to further develop the city council's housing policy. The position reports directly to Mayor Corine Mauch (SP).
Koch will take up his post on January 1, 2025. He prevailed against 24 applicants. Koch is a professor in the Department of Architecture, Design and Civil Engineering at the ZHAW. His research has focused on the role and importance of cooperatives in housing crises, among other things.
