The Franco-German tank manufacturer KNDS is making its plans for an IPO official. Depending on market conditions, a dual listing in Paris and Frankfurt is planned for 2026, the Amsterdam-based company announced.

KNDS is the manufacturer of the Leopard 2 tank used by Ukraine against Russia and is considered one of the most important defense companies in Europe. The tank manufacturer was formed a decade ago through the merger of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and the French company Nexter. KNDS is currently owned by the German family behind Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and the French government.

According to KNDS, the IPO is intended to support the tank manufacturer's long-term growth strategy and expand its access to the capital markets. In addition, the hoped-for proceeds should enable new investments in the company's own capacities as well as technology and innovation. There had already been repeated speculation in recent months about KNDS going public.
