A postulate from the EVP, Greens, SP and AL on one-off support for the Zurich Carpentry Training Center was written off by the Cantonal Council.

The Cantonal Council rejected a parliamentary initiative by the GLP, Greens and SP on a "climate-friendly commuter deduction" by 98 votes to 76. The aim would have been to reduce the commuter deduction for private transport.

The cantonal council rejected a postulate from the Greens that called on the cantonal government to work towards an "active climate policy" at the National Bank.

The cantonal council rejected a parliamentary initiative by the SVP and FDP to change the property gains tax by 95 votes to 75 with one abstention.

The Cantonal Council unanimously approved the 2023 annual report and financial statements of the cantonal buildings insurance company.

In the second reading, the Cantonal Council adopted an amendment to the Protection against Violence Act without dissenting votes. This concerned the analysis and collection of cases of domestic violence and stalking.

The cantonal council rejected a motion for a payment card for asylum seekers from the SVP and FDP by 94 votes to 77. A parliamentary initiative by the two parties on the same topic received preliminary support with 72 votes. Parliament will vote on it again after it has been discussed by the committee.

The Cantonal Council took note of the SVP's interpellation "Measures are urgently needed for protection status S" and resolved it.
