The aim of the exercise was to test the coordination of operations, the joint management of operations and communication between the police forces involved, the three police forces announced in a joint press release on Thursday. This was the first time that the three police corps had jointly trained for such a special situation in this form.
The two-day exercise was carried out in mid-November at various locations in the cantons of Thurgau, Ticino and Zug. From the initial report to "tactical measures" and investigations through to the management of the operation, all phases of such an operation were trained, the communiqué continues.
The three police forces will now review the processes, resources and infrastructure based on the evaluation of the exercise. This should ensure that cross-cantonal cooperation functions professionally and reliably in the event of an emergency, the press release concludes.
