Investigations into the exact course of events and the background to the crime, as well as the motive of the alleged perpetrator, are continuing, according to the police and the public prosecutor's office.
According to the information, a 63-year-old German man shot several family members in a residential building on Sunday afternoon. His 24-year-old son and his 84-year-old mother-in-law are said to have been fatally injured by the man, according to the police and public prosecutor's office. His 26-year-old daughter and his 59-year-old wife were seriously injured by gunfire and taken to hospital by rescue helicopter. They are still being treated in hospital, the investigators said. The 63-year-old committed suicide after the crime.
Many unanswered questions
One day after the crime, the investigation is still ongoing, according to the authorities, and much remains unclear. For example, it is not yet certain whether the man used one or more weapons in the crime. It is also being investigated whether the 63-year-old legally possessed them as a hunter. Police deployed in large numbers after shots were fired
On Sunday afternoon, shots were fired in a residential area in Albstadt, south of Tübingen. According to the police, callers had made an emergency call and the police deployed dozens of patrol cars.
