Despite a good start with "pleasing demand and snow conditions", the Middle East conflict had an increasingly negative impact on business, according to a statement issued on Wednesday evening. The number of guests from Asia, the Middle East and India is declining.
In addition, a gondola crash in March and a rockfall in April had a negative impact on the company's perception, even though operations could be maintained thanks to replacement lines. At 631,041, the total number of first-time admissions as at April 30 was 3.2 percent below the previous year's figure, according to the mountain railroads.
Subdued demand from overseas
The international environment also remains challenging: higher flight prices, limited flight connections in some cases and the strong Swiss franc and euro are dampening demand from overseas. The company therefore expects a negative impact on earnings in the current 2026 financial year.
The medium-term financial targets up to 2035 remain in place, but "may not all be achievable" in 2026. Although initial positive market impulses are discernible, these cannot fully offset the external influences at present.
The company highlights the "Titlis project" as a positive development. This is proceeding according to plan. The new "Titlis Tower" will open as planned at the end of May and should attract more guests from the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) in order to partially compensate for declines from Asia and India.
Titlis Bergbahnen will publish an initial interim balance sheet with the half-year report on July 1.
