In Switzerland, TV streaming has long been part of everyday television. According to a recent streaming report, 71% of households receive television via the internet.

At 39%, Internet TV remains the most important way of receiving television in Switzerland in this year's Zattoo TV streaming report. More than half could imagine watching television exclusively via the Internet, Zattoo wrote on Tuesday.

This was closely followed by TV streaming with 32 percent, meaning that both internet-based reception channels remained at the previous year's level. This means that the upward trend of the smart TV as the central device for TV streaming is continuing this year.

Other devices such as smartphones (43%), laptops or PCs (38%) and tablets (24%) were well behind smart TVs (58%). Streaming services are being used increasingly flexibly, to the detriment of long-term subscription models.

According to the Zattoo report, the prevalence of cable and satellite television continues to decline. For fewer and fewer respondents, traditional television is sufficient. According to Zattoo's observations, this means that important reservations about streaming are increasingly disappearing.

Concerns about high costs or a stable internet connection also decreased. However, according to Zattoo, twelve percent of respondents saw the large number of apps and subscriptions as a hurdle for the first time.
